Stakeholders – we all manage them in our day to day life…be it personal or professional. These are people without whom we cannot succeed. And by success I am not referring to the merge economic success…it’s about success in leading a fulfilling life. Be it personal or professional.
Stakeholder management is actually as much as art as it is science. Just as I sat gathering my thoughts on how this is practiced to perfection by many, the mind brought out a simple guidebook for the same – I could quickly coin it as the vowels of stakeholder management – AEIOU
Appreciation: Who doesn’t like to hear good things about themselves? Who doesn’t like to be known as someone who is valued?
Empathy: Everyone prefers some empathy – grass is never green on the other side
Inter-personal: A lot can indeed happen over a cup of coffee / pint of beer!
Obligation: “Doing something to help someone without being asked for” is the best way to build bridges
Understanding: Communication is the key
